The Tucson N Line is a key model in Hyundai’s plans to expand its N brand portfolio to seven models in various segments through the 2022 calendar year.
WEST HOLLYWOOD, Nov. 9, 2020 – Hyundai today unveiled its innovative 2022 Tucson SUV to U.S. media in West Hollywood, California. The all-new Tucson design is derived from a series of Hyundai Design Center concepts expressing its evolving Sensuous Sportiness global design identity. Tucson gasoline and hybrid models will begin availability for the U.S. market in spring 2021, with plug-in models available in summer 2021. The new 2022 Tucson internal combustion models will be produced at Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama (HMMA) and Ulsan, Korea.
These are two completely different vehicles punching in different weight classes, but they have the same basic engine and several other similarities. While this isn’t a head-to-head comparison, it is a look at some solid offerings that will fit the bill for different buyers and different applications.

Hyundai Motor America has announced pricing for the 2020 Sonata Hybrid, starting at $27,750 for the extremely fuel efficient Sonata Hybrid Blue and $35,300 for the new range-topping Sonata Hybrid Limited. At $27,750, shoppers will discover the 2020 Sonata Hybrid Blue achieves a segment-leading EPA estimated 52-MPG combined fuel economy rating[i] and a best-in-class EPA estimated 54-MPG highway fuel economy rating. In city driving, Sonata Hybrid Blue delivers an EPA estimated 50 MPG. The tech-packed Limited version can also increase fuel economy with its segment exclusive Solar Roof System and the optional Hyundai Digital Key allows a Sonata Hybrid to be unlocked, started and driven without a physical key, via Android smartphone or NFC card. Sonata Hybrid will be available at U.S. dealerships in June.
