Drive a Different Cadillac Every Day of the Week

Tired of driving the same luxury car day in and day out? Well now your first-world problem has been solved.

Yesterday, GM’s luxury division introduced a premium car sharing service called, Book by Cadillac which allows members to have a fleet of highly optioned Cadillac cars, crossovers and SUVs at their disposal at any time.

The concept is simple, pay a monthly $1,500 membership fee (there is no down payment nor a contract), download the Book by Cadillac App, select the car you want, the time and place you want it delivered and voilà, the car shows up as requested via what Cadillac calls “White glove concierge service.” Fancy.

If you need an Escalade for a family ski weekend, you got it. Then on Monday you can swap it for an ATS V to make your weekly commute a little quicker and more fun. Got an important business dinner? Request a CT6 and you and your guests can ride in luxury to your destination. Book by Cadillac members have access to the current year Platinum Level Trim Cadillacs, including the XT5, CT6, Escalade and V Series. All vehicles are equipped with SiriusXM satellite radio, 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, navigation, as well as a full complement of driver assistance and safety features.

The $1,500 monthly fee covers the cost of the car, registration, taxes and insurance – minus a $750 deductible if something unfortunate happens – and all maintenance is included as well. There is no restriction on the number of miles you can drive in the car. All you have to pay for above and beyond the cost of membership is fuel.

According to Cadillac chief marketing officer, Ewe Ellinghaus, Book by Cadillac is “targeted at a growing class of luxury drivers searching for access to various cars over time, dependent on their individual needs.” So if you have neither the garage space nor the desire to own multiple cars, but want a range of vehicles at their disposal, this might be right for you. The program is launching in Cadillac’s home market, New York City, and will expand to other markets throughout the year. You can get more information and sign up for the waiting list at the Book by Cadillac website.
